Photocopier or scanner? What is the most suitable solution?The choice between a scanner and a photocopier (MFP), also called multifunction, depends on the scanning objective. If the purpose is to digitize documents in such a way that they are easily accessible and stored in electronic form, then a scanner is the appropriate choice. If the goal is to make a hard copy of an existing document, then a photocopier is the appropriate choice. Scanners are specially designed to scan documents, pictures and other media, and offer advanced features such as double-sided scanning, double-feed detection (to prevent 2 pages from being taken at the same time ) text recognition and high resolution scanning. The scanners are also designed to handle high volumes of scanning. Copiers, on the other hand, are designed to produce hard copies of existing documents. Although they can also scan documents, they are generally not equipped with the same advanced features as scanners. If the scanning quality may be lower, the photocopier may present a risk in the correct picking up of the documents (no sensors / double entry detector).
